MARSS Responder
The MARSS (Mapping And Radiation Survey System) Responder provides
a complete mobile solution for measuring and evaluating radiation
in response to a radiological event.
APPLICATIONS:
- First responders
- Nuclear Power Plants
- State Radiological Response Teams
- U.S. Customs & Border Protection and Port Authority Investigation
FEATURES:
- Built-in Radiation Detection – ambient
radiation measurements supplemented with gamma spectral analysis
for radionuclide identification. Expandable to include a neutron
detector.
- GPS Location – link position information
with radiation level and environmental sample analysis (in-field
collection and counting) for real-time GIS display and follow-up
evaluation.
- Real-time Data Telemetry – transmit
data up to 40 miles with a license-free spread spectrum radio.
Other options include satellite and cellular communication.
- GIS Integration – data from multiple
Responders displayed on Command Center GIS system.
- Intelligent User Interface via rugged hand-held
computer –guides the user through the setup, collection,
and analysis of radiation measurements.
- Expandable to include other types of detectors
– photo-ionization detectors (PID) and LEL combustible gas
sensors.

| MARSS Responder
provides real-data map overlay to pinpoint locations of radioactive
sources. |
|
Capability
to scan a radioactive
situation to identify any elevated
radiation levels - uses gamma
spectroscopy to distinguish between
normal and potentially serious levels. |
CUSTOMIZABLE CONFIGURATIONS
- Each unit can be configured for multiple exposure scenarios
or events.
- Source/Geometry Modeling is used for establishing
application-specific Action Levels and Responses.
- Identify radionuclides of concern for optimum
response for different applications.
