Project: Final Status Survey Investigations for Defense Logistics Agency/Defense National Stockpile Center (DLA/DNSC) Depots at Binghamton NY and Somerville NJ

Description:

The DNSC Depots at Binghamton NY and Somerville NJ were owned by the Federal Government and operated by the DLA/DNSC for the purpose of storing strategic and critical materials. As a result of the removal of all licensed radioactive material, DNSC directed that an investigation be performed to ensure that former storage locations were suitable for unrestricted release as specified by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

ChesNuc performed a MARSSIM-based investigation at each site, including Historical Site Assessment, Scoping Surveys, and Final Status Survey. ChesNuc used its proprietary MARSS survey and data collection system on the project, and provided all personnel, instrumentation, QA Plan, Radiation Safety Plan, Health and Safety Program and implementing procedures, and Instrumentation implementing procedures.
